The problem
Our goal: nature-oriented education, growing our own vegetables, a recreation area in nature, a school outdoor space, a place where children and teenagers feel comfortable, and bringing nature closer to the children.
The solution we used
Planning, practical implementation, and construction of our school garden together with our students, teachers, parents, and the community.
Implementation
During this year's project week the 3rd and 4th grade of the Randegg middle school, our garden was created from the ground up. Despite the bad weather, the pupils worked with motivation and dedication from planning to practical implementation. Rain or snowfall were no obstacle and 6 vegetable beds, a flower bed, a compost heap, several hotels for insects, a seating area made of pallets, a watering hole, a bean tent and a potato pyramid were created.
Evaluation
It was wonderful to see how creatively, independently and well-planned the pupils tackled the problems. The fun factor was a big part of the process as well!
