The problem
We care about the world around us, so we value food and don't waste it.
The solution we used
Announcement of the school-wide FOOD-HERO competition.
Implementation
We set up a school eco-team to find out the reasons for food waste in the school canteen. They then drew up rules to help all pupils to take away empty plates and not waste food. At the same time, it saves the school the money it has to spend on taking leftovers out of the school canteen. Each month we record information from the school canteen manager about the amount of leftovers taken away and announce the pupils who have taken away the most empty plates in the month.
